We Are Agile! For us, teaching French is a project—one whose goals and success criteria are defined together with the Client and the User before it even begins. Each project is broken down into short cycles or iterations, which we map out on Kanban boards. These allow us to monitor progress and individual phases in real time. For example, phonetics forms a preparatory cycle: we learn pronunciation rules and practice them in order to move on to the next phases of the project—learning basic phrases, simple and complex tenses, dialogues, and more.
After each cycle, we conduct testing and evaluate the outcomes, introducing changes if needed based on feedback from the Client and/or User (Student). We are flexible, and our project priorities and goals can be adjusted on an ongoing basis—for instance, in response to new Client requirements such as the need to introduce industry specific vocabulary or language forms essential for Customer service in a particular sector. This way, a technician from a tire company will learn job-specific vocabulary during a given cycle, while a Service Manager working with French Clients will master the polite forms used in email and phone communication with French-speaking Customers. Focusing on the Clients and Stakeholders is our top priority. We minimize grammar theory, which often only slows down the project without delivering the expected progress. Instead, we replace it with practical grammar. We prioritize efficiency, and thanks to our openness to change and close collaboration with the Client, we ensure rapid progress and on-time project delivery.
